at a speed check.
Eccleshall Parish Council coordinates a team of
volunteers who monitor the speed of vehicles entering and leaving the town
centre on each of the five access roads and Green Lane.
The Eccleshall team is one of a number of
Community Speedwatch groups set up in the Stone Local Policing Area in
conjunction with the local police.
The scheme was launched at a special training
day at the Police Post on Stone Road, Eccleshall on Wednesday 1st December 2004.

|
The aim of the team is to reduce the speed of vehicles using
the roads in and around Eccleshall.
30mph
The volunteers monitor traffic at the various entry roads
to Eccleshall and details of any motorist who exceed the speed limit are sent to
the Stone Police station who will send a warning letter to them advising them of
the offence. Persistent offenders will risk points on their licence and a fine.
The Eccleshall scheme is coordinated by the Parish Council and
the interim Coordinator is Councillor Peter Jones, 2 Stafford Street,
